GED Classes Portland, Oregon

This article lists all GED® class locations and test centers in the Portland region.

Oregon uses the GED for the purpose of high school equivalency (HSE) testing.

The HSE program gives adults who didn’t finish high school the opportunity to earn an equivalent diploma.

The GED is fully computer-based and includes four individual subtests in Literacy, Math, Social Studies, and Science.

You can prepare for and take one (or more) of the four tests at a time as long as you complete it all within two years.

GED testing over the internet is NOT an option. You must show up at a state-designated official GED testing site and take the four subtests personally.

How do you write the GED essay?

The 4 GED tests

The GED program is for adults who don’t have a high school degree, and the four test subject areas are literacy, math, science, and social studies. GED prep courses can be found in a traditional class setting or in an online format. A variety of different instructional methods offers adults a fantastic flexibility in becoming well prepared for the GED high school equivalency exam.

Online GED testing?

The use of an online course to get set for the GED exam is perfectly okay, but to obtain your GED diploma you really have to go to an official GED testing center and take the four tests (one at a time if you wish) in person. Websites that give you any other information are run by con artists, only trying to steal your money. The documents they issue are worthless and will for sure not be recognized and accepted by schools or employers. Don’t waste your money!

Holding the degree allows for higher educations and will definitely result in better job possibilities. To see if you qualify, check out: GED testing criteria in Oregon.

The GED passing requirements were lowered to 145 in early 2016. You can read all about it here. Take also a look at this page that includes links to all GED prep facilities and test locations in the U.S.
