Florida uses the computer formatted GED exam for high school equivalency (HSE) testing purposes.
Testing takes place at a level that compares to that of high school grads.
The GED exam comes with four individual subtests in the subject areas of literacy, math, science, and social studies.
No need to take all four tests (modules) in one session, you have up to two years to complete the four GED subtests.

The complex was established by converting the old Molino School into a 15,600 square foot community center, library, and museum. The complex additionally houses the Tax Collector and Property Appraiser office and is additionally used as a polling station for early voting and elections. Tuition: $30 per semester. Can I take the GED exam online?
The GED set of four tests is NOT available online, you must take the test in person at a designated test site. Websites that contain a different message are false! The GED exam offers new score levels that are measured on a scale of 100 to 200. GED Passing Score: 145 points (the minimum, brought down from 150). The four GED tests
The GED exam now includes four content areas: Literacy (150 minutes); Math (115 minutes); Science (90 minutes); and Social Studies (70 minutes). For a highly efficient way to get all set, check out this website’s free online GED video lessons.
The new GED score report gives you detailed personalized feedback regarding specific competencies that need to be improved to get a higher score and also offers specific learning recommendations. The new GED program offers you the option to schedule, pay for, and take just one module at a time.
*) Pensacola State College Adult Education Department
Pensacola State College’s Adult Education Department provides classes for community adults who would like to enhance their basic academic skills or want to get ready for GED examination. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, although 16 or 17-year-olds may enroll as well if they provide an age waiver from their school district and written permission from a parent/guardian.
The school offers GED classes all throughout the Pensacola area communities and also on all Pensacola State College campuses. Qualifying applicants may enroll at any time they want and there are morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend learning possibilities. Applicants must Florida residents for at least 12 consecutive months to be able to take full (financial) advantage of these GED classes. Students who have not been in residence for at least 12 consecutive months are considered out-of-state students.
Florida Law requires schools to offer these classes at a fee: for Florida residents: $30 per semester, for Alabama residents: $31 per semester and all non-residents must pay: $120 per semester.
GED (General Education Development) preparation classes are available to those adults who did not earn a high school diploma and who have academic skills at least ninth grade level. These GED prep classes instruct students for the four areas of the GED Exam: Science, Math, Social Studies, and Literacy.
