HiSET Scoring

The five HiSET modules are scored on a 0 to 20 scale. You need to attain at least 8 points on EACH of the sub-exams, and your total score must be at least 45 points. Additionally, your essay must have a 2-point score. Averaging is not possible, so you need to attain a passing score (8 points) on each of the five HiSET subtests that may be taken one at a time.

GED Scoring

Your GED scores are measured on a 100 to 200 scale and the passing score on each subtest is 145. Averaging is no option. Scores in the 145-164 category indicate high school equivalency, scores in the 165-174 category are college-ready results, and if you attain results in the 175-200 category, you may also receive college credits.
