GED Classes Paris, Texas

Last Updated on April 11, 2024.

This page lists all available GED testing locations and prep class sites in the Paris region. The state uses the computer-formatted GED exam for its high school equivalency testing program.

The exam offers adults who haven’t finished high school the opportunity to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED® exam assesses fundamental knowledge and skills at a level that is similar to that of graduating high school seniors.

The assessment includes four separate subject tests that measure a test-taker’s knowledge of these subjects:

  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Math
  • Language Arts

You don’t have to deal with the four GED subtests (modules) in one take, and the tests are given in both English and Spanish.

In the past, online GED testing was never an option. You had to appear personally at an official Texas testing facility.

Introducing the Online GED Exam

In the past, the GED exam needed to be taken in person at one of Texas’ official HSE (high school equivalency) testing centers. Online testing simply didn’t exist. That is, until recently, as we saw the introduction of an online proctored GED test-taking option.

If you would like to learn more about the recently launched online GED testing option, visit ‘The online proctored GED test.’

Prepare Well

The GED exam is not easy, so be sure to become optimally prepared if you want to acquire the GED diploma. The GED organization’s website, GED.com, gives you all the information regarding the GED program, and you must set up an account at MyGED, where you can register for, pay for, and schedule your tests.

GED.com/MyGED is also a great location for information about the employment market, job trends and figures, and details on academic programs. The HSE exam is quite challenging, so make sure you get well-prepared!

GED Passing Score

On each of the 4 GED subtests, you must attain at least a score of 145 on a scoring scale from 100 to 200. Averaging is not possible. You must reach this score on all four tests. So, your total score must be 580 or higher.
