GED Classes Owensboro Kentucky

This post lists all GED prep sites and testing centers in the Owensboro region. In Kentucky, you’ll have to pass the GED exam to earn your high school equivalency diploma.

You can take the four GED subtests online or at certified test centers. The assessment gives adults who did not complete high school one extra chance to earn an equivalent credential.

The GED exam includes four separate subtests in these academic fields:

  • English Language Literacy
  • Social Studies
  • Science
  • Math

The GED exam assesses academic proficiency at a level that’s similar to that of HS seniors upon graduation.

Online GED Classes

A simple and easy way of getting your GED diploma.

There’s no need to take all four tests in one session. You can take these subtests (modules) one at a time.

First-time testers can take the four GED tests at no cost, thanks to Kentucky’s Adult Education program.

In the past, online GED testing was not possible. You had to come to an official Kentucky GED testing site and take the four subtests in person.

Online Proctored GED Testing

Until quite recently, sitting for the GED test over the Internet was no option. If you wanted to secure your Kentucky GED degree, your personal appearance at one of Kentucky’s official GED test facilities was a requirement. The recent introduction of an online GED testing option, however, has changed this.

You can now also deal with the GED exam through a new online format where an online proctor guides you through the process and checks if everything happens in accordance with all applicable regulations. To read more, go to this page: ‘The online GED test.’

Kentucky Age Requirements

In Kentucky, you need to be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for GED testing. GED applicants who are 18 years old must, however, have been officially withdrawn from their school for no less than 90 days, but local superintendents have the option to waive this 90-day wait time.

State residence is required, and all applicants must have a Kentucky mailing address. There’s no need to first attend a GED preparatory course, but all test-takers must take and attain satisfactory results on the GED Ready official practice test before they can register for the actual test. You can sit for the GED Ready test at no cost at local adult education centers.

Should we include or unlist a location? Are adjustments required? Please inform us here.
