On this page, we list all GED prep locations and testing centers in the Olympia region. Washington is using the GED exam for its high school equivalency testing program.

GED testing can be done online and at state-certified testing facilities. The exam offers adults who left high school prematurely the chance to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED test measures knowledge at a level similar to what high schoolers must command upon graduation.

The GED has four subject tests (independent modules) that can be taken one at a time.

These subtests, independent modules, cover the academic fields of

• Social Studies
• English Language Literacy
• Science
• Math

GED testing over the Internet had, until recently, never been possible. Test-takers needed to come in person to an official testing site.

This has changed now, though, with the arrival of an online proctored way to sit for the GED exam. More details are at the bottom of this page.

Welcoming the Online GED Test

Taking the four GED modules online had never been an option. To get your Washington State GED credential, you were required to show up in person at one of the state’s designated GED testing sites.

Now, this has changed with the introduction of the online proctored GED test. If you qualify for online GED testing, you will see an online proctor who will monitor you to ensure that you do everything in accordance with strict regulations.
