GED Classes Muskegon, Michigan

This page shows you all GED® prep sites and testing locations in the Muskegon area.

If you look to earn your HSE (high school equivalency) diploma in Michigan, you must pass the GED test.

Additionally, Michigan welcomed the HiSET and TASC for this purpose.

Michigan’s HSE exam is for individuals who never graduated high school and gives them to chance to acquire an equivalent degree.

The GED test contains four individual subtests (modules) in Social Studies, Science, Math, and Literacy.

There’s no need to prepare for the entire exam, that is fully computer-based, at once.

You have the option to sit for one (or more) of the modules at a time and scores count for two years from the first registration.

The TASC and HiSET exams have five subtests as the Literacy Part is split up into a reading and a writing test. TASC and HiSET subtests can also be dealt with separately.

Top Learning Tips For GED Students

GED and your future

The GED diploma is equivalent to a high school diploma. It will lead to better career options and is your ticket to a college education. What are GED Scores

Your GED diploma allows you to become anything you ever wanted to be. Please note that there is NO online GED testing possibility. Websites that tell anything different are run by con artists. Taking an online course to get all set is a fine option, but testing is done in person at state-designated testing centers.

GED cost

In Michigan, the cost of the GED exam is $150 for the entire exam ($37.50 per testing subject). You can register for, pay for, and take, one subtest at a time and your test results stand for two years. There’s no need to take it all at once. For more information on GED testing and how to get optimally prepared, go to GED in Michigan. The HiSET and TASC exams are more affordable and scored in their own ways.

Prepare well

The GED exam is offered exclusively on a computer and that makes sense because there is hardly any job out there that will not require some level of computer literacy and keyboarding skills. So make sure to become properly prepared and note that there is NO online GED testing. You must come to one of the official testing sites to take the four tests in person. Here’s also a link to all GED prep programs in the U.S. The TASC and HiSET exams are offered both on-computer and on-paper.

Lowered Passing Score

At the beginning of 2016, the passing score for each of the four GED subtests was reduced by five points to 145. You can read all about this important step in the news pages of this website. A great feature of the new GED exam is that you now can sit for one test (module) when you are sufficiently prepared, you don’t have to take all four tests in a row.

Scores are good for two years from the first registration. This doesn’t count for TASC and HiSET testing.
