The exam gives adults who never finished high school another shot at securing an equivalent degree.
The GED test measures basic knowledge at a level comparable to that of graduating high school seniors.
The computer-based GED has four subtests that measure knowledge in the following subjects:
- Math
- Social Studies
- Science
- English Language Arts
These modules may be written individually. There’s no need to take the entire GED battery at once.
Online GED Classes
A simple and easy way of getting your GED diploma.
Until recently, there was no online GED testing possibility. Testing needed to be done at one of Texas’ official testing sites.
This, however, has now changed with the launch of an online GED testing option. For more information, check the bottom of this page.

Introducing the Online Proctored GED Test
In the past, the GED exam had to be taken in person at one of Texas’ state-designated HSE (high school equivalency) testing facilities. There was just no online GED testing option. But now, this has come to an end as we saw the launch of an online proctored GED testing option.
For more information about the new online proctored GED test, visit ‘The online proctored GED test.
