The four GED tests measure proficiency at levels that are comparable to that of graduating HS seniors.
The GED is entirely computerized and is given in English and Spanish.
The GED includes four individual tests that assess proficiency in these academic subject fields:
- Social Studies
- Science
- Mathematics
- English Language
You can sit for these subtests one at a time. There’s no requirement to take it all in one session.

The Online GED Test
In the past, the GED exam needed to be done in person at one of Texas’ state-designated HSE (high school equivalency) test centers. Online testing simply was no option. This has changed now, however, with the launch of the online proctored GED exam.
You can find more information about the new online proctored GED test here -> Introducing the online GED test.
