This article contains a complete listing of GED and HiSET prep facilities and test centers in the Lawrence region. In Massachusetts, there are two options for high school equivalency testing: the HiSET and the GED exams.
Both options are available at certified testing centers only. Massachusetts has suspended GED and HiSET online testing!
The tests provide adults who didn’t graduate from high school the opportunity to earn an equivalent degree.
Both exams measure knowledge at a level that’s comparable to that of high school students upon graduation.

Online GED and HiSET Testing Options
It used to be that there was no option to deal with the GED or HiSET exam over the Internet. Testing was done at a state-designated Massachusetts testing facility. Now, in many states, all of that has changed as we saw the arrival of online testing options for both the HiSET and the GED exam, but Massachusetts has decided to suspend online testing.
You can learn all about the ‘HiSET-At-Home’ exam in an online format here: ‘Online HiSET test,’ and for online GED testing information, go to this page: ‘The Online GED exam.’
Massachusetts’ Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced that the state covers the fees of the GED and HiSET. Read more details about promo codes here.

Your Future
If you are thinking about getting your HSE (High School Equivalency) Certificate, be sure to get as prepared as you possibly can. Massachusetts introduced the HiSET for the state’s High School Equivalency Testing Program to replace the GED test, but decided to also offer the GED exam again for this purpose.
No matter how you get ready, just make sure you will pass the GED or HiSET exam, get a good job, improve your income, and get on the road to a brighter future.
When you visit a testing site, don’t forget to carry a valid photo ID. In Massachusetts, the HiSET exam is offered in a computer-based and paper format. Testing results will be ready in a few weeks (paper version) or right after the exam (computer format), except for the writing section. The GED is exclusively available on a computer.
Should we add or remove a site? Are adjustments or updates required? We appreciate your advice here.
