Online GED Classes

A simple and easy way of getting your GED diploma.

Learn fast, stay motivated, and pass your GED quickly.

The HiSET® and GED® exams are for adults without a high school diploma and give them a chance to acquire an equivalent degree.

The HiSET includes five subject tests in the academic sectors of

  • Math
  • Language Reading
  • Language Writing
  • Science
  • Social Studies

The GED test has four independent sub-exams as the reading and writing portions have been merged into one Language test.

The HiSET exam can be taken on paper or on a computer, while the GED is offered exclusively on a computer. All subtests can be written separately and in any order.

Online HiSET or GED testing was, until recently, not an option. The introduction of online testing formats has changed that. Check below for more information.

Introducing the HiSET and GED Online Exams

Until very recently, online GED or HiSET testing was not possible. To secure your Louisiana high school equivalency (HSE) diploma, you were required to show up in person at one of Louisiana’s state-approved HSE testing facilities. Now, however, all of that has changed with the arrival of online HiSET and GED test-taking options from your home.

The online options, called the HiSET-Exam-At-Home and the OP (Online Proctored) GED Test, allow you to sit for the five HiSET or four GED modules from the comfort of your own home. An online proctor will oversee your test-taking and check if all occurs in accordance with the regulations. To learn more, check out ‘The Online HiSET Test.’ More information on the OP GED Test can be found <- here.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the HiSET or GED test in Louisiana, testers must be no younger than 16 years of age. However, students must be 19 or older to take the HiSET or GED exam without any further restrictions.

Underage testers (16-17-18 years old) are required to sign up for a state-approved WorkReady U program or for an official “LA Options” prep program within the state’s K–12 system. They must also attain satisfactory scores on the HiSET OPT (Official Practice Test) or the GED Ready practice test.

HiSET or GED applicants are not required to be Louisiana residents, and students 19 and up don’t need to take a practice test first, though it is highly recommended to do so as the test will indicate which subject areas need their attention most.
