This is an overview of GED and HiSET prep classes and testing facilities in the Lancaster area. Pennsylvania uses two options for High School Equivalency testing: the HiSET and GED exams.
Both exams can be taken online and at state-approved testing centers. Pennsylvania awards the Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma (CSSD) to students who pass one of these exams.
GED® and HiSET testing occurs at a level that’s similar to what HS seniors must command upon graduation.
The GED is completely computer-based, whereas the HiSET can be done on a computer and on paper.

Launching Online HiSET and GED Testing Options
Until a few years back, the GED and HiSET tests had to be taken in person at one of Pennsylvania’s official HSE (High School Equivalency) testing sites. Taking the HSE test online had never been an option. Well, both online proctored GED and HiSET testing options were launched, so that’s all changed.
