GED Classes Grand Junction, Colorado

Listed here are all GED® prep classes and testing sites in the greater Grand Junction region.

Colorado is offering several options for HSE (high school equivalency) testing, the GED, TASC, and HiSET.

HSE testing gives adults who dropped out of high school an extra opportunity to acquire an equivalent degree.

All HSE exams measure knowledge in relation to what HS seniors are required to command upon graduation.

GED testing must be done on a computer while the TASC and HiSET are available on-paper and on-computer.

The GED has four subtests in Math, Literacy, Science, and Social Studies. You are given two years to pass these GED tests.

HiSET and TASC contain 5 tests (Literacy has separate reading and writing tests) that are not offered separately.

Online GED, HiSET, or TASC testing is not available!

For who is the HSE exam?

The GED (General Education Development), HiSET (High School Equivalency Test), and TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion) exams are for adults who don’t have a secondary education degree and offers them one more chance to get hold of a credential that is all across the United States accepted as equivalent to a high school diploma by government agencies, recruiters, businesses, colleges, and universities.

The GED exam is a group of four individual tests on elementary knowledge and skills at a level that is comparable to that of students when they graduate from high school. GED testing happens through four independent tests that need to be completed within a time frame of two years. HiSET and TASC testing takes place via five subtests that can’t be taken separately. Here, the sections “Literacy” have a writing and a reading test.

Can I take the HSE exam online?

Please note well that the GED, TASC, or HiSET exam cannot be taken online. You will have to report in person at one of Colorado’s official HSE test sites. Online preparation is a great help for many people in remote areas, those who cannot come to classes due to other obligations, and students who don’t function in traditional classroom settings, but to acquire the Colorado HSE diploma, you must come to a designated test site. Online prep courses are fine so take a look at this website’s free online GED video lessons.

The completely overhauled GED program better reflects and is in line with the changed educational and industry requirements and standards. Obtaining this diploma will again reflect an applicant’s readiness to enter institutions of postsecondary education and the workforce.

Many adults individuals just like you have used their energy to go for the GED test credential to obtain better jobs or to further their education. The tests you will take examine your knowledge and academic skills in comparison to conventional high school graduates, so come to the tests perfectly prepared, as the tests don’t come cheap.

There are more than 45 million adults in America aged 18 and older who never received their high school degree, and every year we can see that almost one million high school enrollees are not graduating with their class. Each year some 700,000 men and women take the GED examination, and around 70 percent are successful, though we can see that this number has increased since the computer-based new GED exam was introduced.

*) Colorado Mountain College

Colorado Mountain College reaches out to the communities of its campuses by building partnerships with various K-12 school districts and other organizations and offers for adult learners who are without a high school diploma HSE preparation courses and English literacy programs.

The learning process at CMC is personal, and the school offers small classes for an optimal study result.

The school has dedicated and specially trained teachers for the adult education classes and the school provided a solid foundation so students will be successful at the GED exam that includes four tests that cover these subject areas: literacy, math, social studies, and science or the five tests of the TASC or HiSET exams.
