Listed here are all GED® prep classes and testing sites in the greater Grand Junction region. Colorado is offering two options for HSE (high school equivalency) testing, the GED and HiSET® exams.
Both the HiSET and GED can be taken online or at state-designated HSE testing sites. Read more below about online GED and HiSET testing.
HSE testing gives adults who never completed their high school curriculum an extra opportunity to acquire an equivalent degree.
Both HSE exams measure knowledge in relation to what HS seniors are required to command upon graduation.
GED testing must be done on a computer while the HiSET is available on-paper and on-computer.
The GED has four subtests in Math, Literacy, Science, and Social Studies. You are given the option to take the GED subtests separately.
The HiSET contains 5 tests (Literacy has separate reading and writing tests) that are offered separately as well.

Online GED or HiSET tests
If you want to earn your high school equivalency degree in Colorado, you can take the HiSET and GED exams also online. It uses to be that, to secure your GED diploma, you had to come to an official Colorado testing site in person but now, that has all changed.
The HiSET and GED exams are now also available in an online format while using an online proctor to oversee your activities. More details can be read here: online proctored GED testing, and for the HiSET: online proctored HiSET testing.
