The HiSET Practice Test

To be able to register for the HiSET exam in Iowa, applicants must first attain passing results on the HiSET official practice test.

To write this practice test, they must be enrolled in an adult education program offered by one of the 15 community colleges in Iowa.

Online HiSET Testing

In the past, the HiSET exam, like the GED, could not be taken online. To earn an Iowa high school equivalency degree, you were required to appear at an official HiSET testing site.

Well, this changed a few years back with the arrival of an online HiSET testing option, the “HiSET-At-Home” exam.

An online proctor guides you through the testing process and ensures everything complies with strict regulations. Read more here: Online HiSET-At-Home Exam.

To qualify for the online GED test (perhaps in a state without residency requirements), candidates must first achieve passing scores on the GED Ready practice test.

For each GED subtest, there is a practice test, so that makes four overall, for a total of $32 ($7.99 per test) on top of the testing fees.

Students who opt for one of the Onsego Advantage Plans receive four GED Ready vouchers for free. That’s part of their plan.
