GED Classes Danville, Virginia

This is a complete list of GED® prep sites and testing centers in the Danville, Virginia, region. Virginia is using the GED exam for its HSE (high school equivalency) testing program.

The GED test can be taken online or at one of Virginia’s state-approved GED test centers.

The HSE program provides adults who never completed high school with the chance to earn an equivalent credential.

Applicants have to pass four individual subtests in Social Studies, Science, Math, and Literacy.

The tests can be taken separately. You are not required to sit for the entire GED battery in one testing session.

The GED test is only available in a computer-based format.

It used to be that you had to come to a state-designated Virginia GED testing site and sit for the GED exam in person. There was no online testing option.

This has now changed, however, with the arrival of a proctored online GED testing option. For more information check below.

Introducing the online GED exam

In the past, there never was the option to sit for the GED test online. If you wanted to acquire the Virginia GED diploma, your personal appearance at one of the state’s official GED testing centers was required.

This has now changed as we witnessed the introduction of a new GED testing format, the online proctored GED test. So if you qualify, you are allowed to take the four GED subtests online from the comfort of your own home. An online proctor will oversee your testing process and check if you do it all in line with the regulations. To learn more, go to Introducing a new online proctored GED testing option.
