Introducing the GED Online Test
Until recently, taking the GED test over the Internet was not possible. You needed to come personally to an official Maryland GED testing site if you were looking to earn your GED diploma.
Well, that has, fortunately, changed. There is now also an option to take the GED test in an online format. A proctor oversees your test-taking process and checks if you do it all in accordance with the rules and regulations. Go to the page ‘The online GED test introduced’ to learn more.
Your Future
The test of General Education Development (better known as the GED) offers persons who left high school prematurely the possibility to earn a credential that is all over North America recognized in the same way as a high school diploma. To learn all about enrollment requirements, go to GED testing in Maryland.
The degree opens doors toward a college education and will bring about better employment openings. Maryland subsidized the exam, so the cost is $45 for all four tests, but this counts only for 1st-time GED applicants. Other test-takers pay the regular cost of $36 per subtest.
The GED gives you a chance to acquire a secondary education credential. Adults who satisfactorily take the four GED tests are awarded the ‘State Board of Education Document of Endorsement of Secondary Attainment.’
This state-issued document is accepted all across America to satisfy high school completion requirements for admission to colleges, by employers, and the Military service. Many schools in Maryland offer free preparation courses and practice tests that are very helpful in determining your proficiency.
Maryland does not require you first to take an official GED Practice Test, but it is strongly advised to get used to the way of examining and assessing your level so you know what subjects you must concentrate on.
The GED exam is only open to Maryland residents who are 16 or older, who don’t have a secondary education credential, and who are not signed up for a school program.
Candidates 16 and 17 may also apply, but they must be officially withdrawn from high school and have an age waiver, and before the GED credential can be awarded, the applicant’s class of school entry (the candidate was in that class) must have graduated.
Maryland GED Price
In Maryland, the GED exam costs $144 or $36.00 for each subtest. First-time testers, however, only need to pay $14.25 per subtest both when testing online or at a test center. The state subsidizes $21.75 per subtest, but only for 1-st time testers for their first attempt. Retests are not subsidized in Maryland. The discount code is MDGED2175 and can be used at checkout.
