What’s on the GED Test
The GED is a fully computer-based assessment with four independent, modular sub-exams. The subtests cover the academic fields of
- Language (reading and writing combined)
- Science
- Math
- Social Studies
You have the freedom to take these four subtests one (or more) at a time and in any desired order.
The GED measures knowledge at a level comparable to that of high school students when they graduate.

Your Future
These days, we can see more than four million jobs in the U.S. that cannot be filled. This is mainly because we can’t find enough qualified people who hold a high school or comparable degree.
Then again, we can also see more than 40 million adults who never completed high school. The enormous shortfall negatively affects the economy because it is not running to its full potential.
The General Educational Development (GED) certificate or diploma is accepted and recognized by virtually all employers, government agencies, and colleges and universities all over the United States.
By acquiring your GED certificate, you will have a far better chance of getting one of these four million jobs. Your income will benefit you and your family, you will have a brighter future, and you will be contributing to the overall economy as well. Getting your GED diploma is your first and very important move towards a better life.
Online GED Testing
In the past, taking the GED test via the Internet was never an option. To earn your Washington State GED diploma, you needed to show up in person at one of the state’s official GED testing centers.
But all of that changed a few years ago with the launch of the online GED testing option. A proctor will check online whether you do it all in line with some rather strict regulations.
If you want to learn more about online GED testing, visit this page: ‘The online GED test explained.’
You only qualify for online GED testing after you have reached satisfactory scores (‘green’ range results) on the GED Ready practice test.
In total, there are four of these practice tests to pass, one per GED sub-exam. They cost $7.99 apiece, so you can add $32 to your Washington State GED testing cost.
Free GED Ready Vouchers
Students preparing for their GED exam with an Onsego Advantage Plan don’t need to purchase the GED Ready tests. Their plans already include four vouchers for the GED Ready tests at no charge.
Advantage Plans offer quite an affordable way to get all set for the challenging GED exam, starting at just $79. All plans include four GED Ready vouchers, outstanding support courses, immediate access to all GED study materials, and much more.
If you’re looking to become GED-ready fast, learning with Onsego is the right way to go!
