GED Classes Bellingham, Washington

This article lists all GED® prep facilities and testing sites in Bellingham and surrounding areas. Washington state uses the GED exam for the purpose of high school equivalency (HSE) testing.

GED testing can be done online and at certified GED testing facilities.

The HSE test gives adults who couldn’t finish high school another chance to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED measures knowledge at a level that’s similar to what high school students are expected to command upon graduation.

The GED exam has four separate computer-based subject tests that cover literacy, math, science, and social studies.

The subtests, or modules, can be taken one at a time. There’s no need to complete it all in one take.

For information about the newly launched online proctored GED exam, check the bottom of this post.

Washington GED price tag

In Washington, each subject field of the 4-tests exam costs $30 (a total of $120 for the entire battery). Re-scheduling needs to be done at least 24 hours before testing, and if you don’t show up at an appointment, the fee is not refunded. The good thing is that you can register for (and pay for) one test every time you think you are well prepared. Registration and scheduling have become very easy.

The GED diploma is recognized and accepted in lieu of a high school degree by practically all institutions of post-secondary education and employers across North America.

Launching an online GED testing option

In the past, you never had the choice to sit for the GED test via the internet. If you were looking to obtain your GED diploma, you needed to come personally to one of Washington State’s official, state-approved GED testing facilities.

This has now changed with the introduction of a new online GED test-taking option. An online proctor will monitor the process and check if you do everything in accordance with the regulations. To read more about this development, go to this post: Welcoming an online GED testing option.
