Launching the Online GED Test
In the past, you never had the choice to sit for the GED test via the Internet. If you were looking to obtain your GED diploma, you needed to come personally to one of Washington’s official, state-approved GED testing facilities.
This has now changed with the introduction of a new online GED test-taking option. An online proctor will monitor the process and check if you do everything in accordance with the regulations. To read more about this development, visit this post: Welcoming the online GED test.

Washington GED Price Tag
In Washington, each subject field of the 4-tests exam costs $36 (a total of $144 for the entire battery). Rescheduling needs to be done at least 24 hours before testing, and if you don’t show up at an appointment, the fee is not refunded.
Online GED testing is just as expensive, $36 per sub-exam, or $144 in total. When taking the exam online, however, you should also take into account that you’ll have to purchase 4 GED Ready tests (7.99 each) and reach sufficient results to qualify for online testing. So that’ll add up to $176!
The good thing is that you can register for (and pay for) one test every time you think you are well prepared. Registration and scheduling have become very easy. Go to GED.com to learn all the details, and sign up with MyGED to discover everything about employment market developments, university and college profiles, how to register and schedule (or reschedule) appointments, and so on.
The GED diploma is recognized and accepted in lieu of a high school degree by practically all institutions of post-secondary education and employers across North America.
