GED® or HiSET testing occurs at a level similar to that of graduating high school seniors.

There are four separate GED subtests covering the academic subjects of

  • Math
  • Science
  • Language Arts
  • Social Studies

You can complete these sub-exams one or more at a time and in the order you wish.

The HiSET exam comes with five subtests, as the language arts section includes individual reading and writing subtests.

Online GED and HiSET testing is now possible as well. It used to be that you had to come to a state-designated testing site to sit for the four GED or five HiSET subject tests in person.

The introduction, however, of online GED and HiSET testing formats has changed all of that. Read more below.

Online Proctored GED and HiSET Testing

Until recently, taking the Georgia GED exam could be done exclusively at state-approved GED testing centers. There was simply no option to sit for the GED exam over the Internet. If you were looking to secure your Georgia GED, your personal appearance was required if you wanted to pass the four GED tests. Now, Georgia uses the HiSET exam as well for High School Equivalency testing.

Well, all of this has now changed with the introduction of an online proctored GED and HiSET testing format. When using this GED or HiSET testing format, an online proctor guides you through the entire test-taking process and will see if all is going according to strict rules.

To learn more, go to ‘The Online GED Exam’ for more details about the online GED test, and to learn more about the online HiSET-at-Home option, <- check here.
