GED Classes Gainesville, Georgia

Last Updated on April 10, 2024.

On this page, you can discover all GED and HiSET prep class sites and testing locations in the Gainesville, Georgia, region. The state of Georgia uses two options for High School Equivalency testing: the GED and HiSET exams.

The exams are for adults who never completed high school and give them the opportunity to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED® is fully computerized, while the HiSET® can be taken on a computer or in a paper-based format.

Both the GED and HiSET exams are given at certified GED testing facilities and in an online proctored format.

The GED has four separate subtests in the content fields of

  • Science
  • Math
  • Social Studies
  • Literacy

HiSET testing comes with five subtests, as the Literacy section has separate reading and writing subtests.

It doesn’t matter when you left school

You can take the four GED or five HiSET subtests (independent modules) one at a time and in any order.

It used to be that GED testing needed to be done at a state-designated GED test center.

That has changed, though, with the introduction of a new online GED testing format using a proctor, and Georgia also welcomed the HiSET exam, which is also available online. More information can be found at the bottom of this page.

You can prepare for the GED or HiSET test by studying online. You can also choose a traditional prep class near you.

Introducing Online GED and HiSET Testing Options

In the past, sitting for the Georgia GED exam was exclusively possible at state-approved GED testing sites. There was no option to do that online. To earn a GED diploma, your personal appearance was required if you wanted to pass the GED exam.

But now, that has changed with the introduction of an online, proctored GED testing option, and Georgians can now also sit for the HiSET exam, which is offered online as well. When taking the GED or HiSET test in this format, a proctor guides you through the process and sees if everything is going according to strict regulations.

For more detailed information, check out this page: ‘Online GED testing.’ To learn all about online GED testing and to get more informed about the online HiSET-At-Home, <- check out this page.
