GED Essay Topic with Sample

Is there an online GED exam?

No, there is not an online GED, TASC, or HiSET testing option. Many technological innovations and revolutionary techniques have been implemented in all three HSE  exams but despite these great developments will you still have to go to a state-accredited HSE test center. Beware of false internet sites that want to sell you fake and worthless products like “Online GED Diploma”, “Online GED Certificate”, or “Online GED Exam”. These documents will not be accepted by employers, colleges, or universities.

The HiSET and TASC exams are offered both on-computer and on-paper. For eligibility requirements, visit HSE Testing in Texas.  Check also this post that has links to all U.S. GED prep facilities. The GED passing score was lowered from 150 to is 145 just two years after the new test’s introduction because the passing score was definitely set too high. To learn more. read this GED Scoring News pages.

Online registration

Registration for the GED four tests must be done online at GED.com. You need to create your account with the portal MyGED, and you will need a credit or debit card and a current email address. If you have no email address you can make one right there, and if you have no credit/debit card, contact a prep center for a pre-paid voucher. Alternatively, you can call GED testing Service at 877-392-6433 to schedule your tests.

Test-taker eligibility

To be able to take the HSE (high school equivalency) exam in the state of Texas, you need to be a Texas resident, be no younger than 18 (17-year-old’s may qualify, contact a GED prep center), not have a high school degree or similar, not be engaged in some other educational course, and possess a valid photo ID.

Preparation is key

On this website, you can find a great number of preparation tests to help you get decently prepared for the real thing. You probably can best sign up with one of the above listed GED classes, but for adult learners who have no time, or for those in remote areas, an online GED course, like the one offered for free on this website, can be a great help as well.

Furthermore, most community libraries and local bookstores have plenty of study material as well, and the majority of prep locations provide GED study books at no cost. These books often have practice tests to help you get all set and to determine if you are ready to take the exam.

One test at a time

No longer do you need to take everything in one go. You now have the option to take one test (or more if you want) at the moment you feel all set to do so. One more pleasant aspect is that you can indeed just register for one test, and pay for only that part. The price tag of one test is $33.75 in Texas ($135 for all four modules). The best (and only official) practice test is found on the GED organization’s website GED.com, the GED Ready Test.

*) Christian Women’s Job Corps

Christian Women’s Job Corps (CWJC) offers adult women the opportunity to change their lives from dependent women to self-sufficient and independent individuals. Career Track classes are offered during the day and in the evening. During these classes, women are educated in a wide variety of subjects, all focused on creating independent persons.

Applicants who come to the organization’s program while not having a high school or GED diploma will first attend the Education Track. During these classes, they will be educated in Bible Study and the subject areas of the GED exam. They will be educated by a committed group of volunteer trainers.

These GED prep classes are held on Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. When a participant has passed all four of the GED tests, she can enter CWJC’s Career Track.
