On this page, you can find a full listing of GED preparatory classes and testing sites in the Waco region. Texas uses the computer-based GED test for its high school equivalency testing program.

The assessment is available at state-recognized test centers and in an online format.

The GED exam consists of four separate subtests that measure an applicant’s knowledge in the fields:

• Math
• Social Studies
• Science
• English Language

The GED subtests (modules) don’t need to be taken in one session. You can take and pay for one subtest at a time and in any order.

Online GED testing was never possible. To earn your Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (TxCHSE), you had to show up at one of Texas’ more than 130 GED testing sites.

Recently, however, that changed with the launch of the online proctored GED test-taking option. More information can be found at the bottom of this page.

Online GED Testing Welcomed

In the past, HSE (high school equivalency) testing could only be done at Texas’ official testing sites, where applicants were required to show up in person. There just was never an online testing option. But now, all of this has changed as we witnessed the introduction of an online proctored GED exam.
