GED Classes Statesboro, Georgia

This post shows you all GED and HiSET prep class locations and testing facilities in the Statesboro region. Georgia is using two options for its high school equivalency testing program: the GED and HiSET exams.

The exams provide adults who left high school without a diploma one more option to obtain an equivalent degree.

It doesn’t matter when you left school.

Both options can be taken online or at one of Georgia’s official testing facilities. Testing occurs at a level comparable to what high school seniors are expected to master upon graduation.

The GED exam is fully computerized, while the HiSET is offered both on a computer and in a paper-based format.

There are four separate GED subtests (modules) in

  • Math
  • Language
  • Social Studies
  • Science

You may write these sub-exams separately and in any order you wish.

A simple and easy way of getting your GED diploma.

The HiSET includes five subtests, as Literacy has separate reading and writing subtests. These five subtests can be taken individually as well.

In the past, online GED or HiSET testing was not possible, but that has now changed with the introduction of new online testing options. Read more below.

Introducing Online GED and HiSET Testing Option

Until recently, the GED or HiSET test was only offered at state-approved testing sites. The exams were just not available over the Internet. To earn your Georgia HSE diploma, you had to report, in person, to one of the state’s official testing centers.

But all that has changed with the arrival of online proctored GED and HiSET testing options. Students who will take the GED or HiSET exam online will meet an online proctor who helps them with the test-taking process and who checks if all is done according to the regulations.

If you want to learn more about the online proctored GED exam, check out this post: ‘Online GED Test.’ For more information about the ‘HiSET-At-Home’ exam, <- go to this page.

Georgia’s HOPE Grant

Georgia GED or HiSET graduates may be eligible for a HOPE Grant worth $500. This grant can be used for their continued education and is available to students who earned a GED through Georgia’s Technical College System.

The HOPE GED Grant of $500 is to be used for study material and tuition or for other costs related to education at a public or private technical college and university.

Applicants don’t need to be full-time students, but the HOPE GED Grant must be used within 2 years of receiving the GED diploma. A $200 HOPE Grant is also available to qualifying GED or HiSET students to cover the cost of the exams.
