GED Classes Augusta, Georgia

In this article, you can find all GED® prep class locations and testing centers in the Augusta region.

Georgia uses the computerized GED exam for its HSE (high school equivalency) testing program.

The Georgia HSE program gives individuals who could not finish their HS curriculum a chance to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED consists of four separate tests in these academic fields: Literacy, Math, Social Studies, and Science.

You have the option to sit for one GED subtest at a time, and scores count for two years from your initial registration.

Online GED testing is NO option. You must come to an official GED testing site in person.

The GED – who is it for?

Adult Education Programs in Georgia are designed for individuals who require assistance with getting all set for GED exam and want to improve their basic academic skills. The GED is especially for those adults who never completed their high school education. It offers them another chance to earn a credential that is equivalent to a standard high school diploma. There are many flexible GED prep programs in nontraditional settings and at all kind of classroom hours so that they will meet almost anyone’s agenda.

The four GED tests

The GED (General Education Development) exam will lead to a credential that is an alternative to a regular high school diploma. The GED exam consists of four individual sub-tests in basic knowledge that students learn in high school and includes these four subject fields: literacy, social studies, science, and mathematics. You are allowed to take one subtest when you all set to do so. You have two years to finish all four sub-tests.

GED passing score

The required test result on the GED exam was 150 per testing subject, but that was reduced to 145, so you have to score in total at least 580 points. In fact, the entire scoring has changed. You may also want to see this post that has links to all GED programs in the U.S.

Can I take the GED online?

No, you can not. The GED tests are not available online, you must come in person to a state-designated GED test center. Online preparation is a great solution for many students, but to earn your GED credential you must come to a testing site. Preparation is crucial and listed above are all GED prep locations in and around Augusta.

Most probably you are aware that recently some major and important modifications were implemented in the GED test. If you are considering taking on the GED exam, you can find a lot of useful information in our posts that will explain everything about all these modifications. Important is that you become optimally prepared and won’t get taken off guard when you show up at a Georgia GED testing site. Not all states decided to continue to use the GED exam. Some decided to use the TASC method, other states decided to use the HiSET alternative. There even are states that offer a variety of options for their High School Equivalency testing program.

Anyway, be sure to become properly prepared. There are numerous preparation facilities near you and preparing via online GED programs is another option, especially useful for those living in rural areas. You may as well take advantage of the free video instruction that we offer on this website. We also offer GED practice tests at no charge and without any further obligation! These great resources will definitely help you to get ahead.
