Stamford Adult Education is providing a GED program to get residents of Stamford, Darien, and New Canaan ready to sit for the GED exam successfully. Applicants who are, at the time of registration, 17 or 18 years old must have a written and signed document stating that are withdrawn from school for the duration of at least six months.

Additionally, those who are 17 must present a withdrawal and consent form signed by a parent or guardian. Applicants 18 years old can, instead of a withdrawal form, submit an official document from the school they last attended stating that their high school class has graduated. All applicants must take a pre-test upon registration, and, depending on their test results, they will be able to sit for the GED State exam, or that they must first attend preparation classes to reach a suitable level of knowledge and skills.
