GED Classes Shreveport, Louisiana

This article posts all GED® (in Louisiana: HiSET®) prep class locations and test centers in the Shreveport region. Louisiana uses the HiSET for its High School Equivalency (HSE) testing program.

The HiSET measures knowledge at the same level as what graduating HS seniors must command upon graduation.

The HiSET exam has five tests in the following areas: writing, reading, social studies, math, and science.

HiSET testing can be done both computer-based and in a paper-and-pencil format and the subtests may be taken individually.

In the past, the HiSET, like the GED, had to be taken at an official Louisiana testing site. There was no online option.

Recently, however, we’ve seen the arrival of a new online test-taking option so that has now changed.

The GED credential is accepted just like a high school diploma by employers and schools across America.

Introducing a new online HiSET testing option

Until recently, HiSET testing via the internet was not possible. When you were looking to get hold of a Louisiana high school equivalency degree, you personally had to appear at a state-designated HiSET testing site. Well, recently this has changed with the arrival of an online HiSET test-taking option named the HiSET-At-Home Exam.

If you take the five HiSET subtests (one at a time if you like) from the comfort of your home, an online proctor will oversee the entire process and check if you do it all in accordance with the regulations. To learn more, check out ‘New Online Proctored HiSET Testing Option’.
