This article posts all GED and HiSET prep class locations and test centers in the Shreveport region. Louisiana uses the exams for its High School Equivalency (HSE) testing program.
The HiSET and GED measure knowledge at the same level as what graduating high schoolers must command upon graduation.

The Independent HiSET and GED subtests
The HiSET exam consists of five separate subtests that can be taken in your preferred order, and one at a time. These independent modules measure a candidate’s knowledge of the following areas:
- Language Literacy Writing
- Language Literacy Reading
- Social Studies
- Mathematics
- Science
With the GED test, the reading and writing sections were merged into one Reasoning through Language Arts subtest, so there are four individual GED modules that can also be taken separately.
HiSET testing can be taken in either computer-based or paper-and-pencil format, whereas the GED is entirely computerized. The GED or HiSET credential is accepted by employers and schools across America just as a high school diploma is.

The Online HiSET and GED Tests
Until a few years back, HiSET or GED testing via the Internet was not possible. When you were looking to get hold of a Louisiana high school equivalency degree, you personally had to appear at a state-designated HSE testing site.
Well, this has changed with the arrival of online HiSET and GED test-taking options named the HiSET-At-Home Exam and the OP (Online Proctored) GED Test.
If you take the five HiSET or four GED subtests (one at a time if you like) from the comfort of your home, an online proctor will oversee the entire process and check if you do it all in accordance with the regulations. To learn more, check out the ‘Online Proctored HiSET Test.’ More information on the Online Proctored GED exam <- can be found here.
If you want to take the GED exam online, you’ll first have to reach “green” (passing) results on the GED Ready official practice test. There’s one of these practice tests for each GED sub-exam, so that’s four in total.
The GED Ready practice tests cost $7.99 each on the GED.com website. Students studying toward the HiSET or GED test with Onsego Advantage Plans don’t have to purchase any of these tests, as their Advantage Plan includes four GED Ready vouchers. Isn’t that a fantastic $32 bonus?
Should we include or unlist a site? Are adjustments needed? We welcome your advice here.
