This article lists all GED prep locations and testing sites in the greater Sheridan region. Wyoming uses two options for high school equivalency testing, the GED and the HiSET exams.
Both exams are offered online and at certified Wyoming test centers.
The assessments give adults who didn’t graduate high an extra shot at obtaining an equivalent diploma.
The GED® is entirely computerized, while the HiSET® is offered in both a computer- and a paper-based version.
The GED comes with four independent subtests (modules) in these academic fields: literacy, math, science, and social studies.
These four GED modules can be completed one test at a time. There’s no need to sit for the entire GED exam in one take.
The HiSET comes with five subtests, as the literacy sections have separate writing and reading tests. These modules are also offered individually.
In earlier days, you could not take the GED or HiSET online. You always had to show up at a state-designated testing site.

Launching Online HiSET And GED Testing
It used to be that if you were looking to acquire your high school equivalency (HSE) diploma, you needed to report personally to one of Wyoming’s official, state-designated HSE testing sites. Online testing was just not offered.
But now, this has fortunately changed with the launch of both online proctored GED and HiSET testing options. If you qualify for online testing, you can take the HSE test from your home while an online proctor will be monitoring if everything goes according to the regulations.
For more information about these options, go to Launching the online HiSET exam, and to learn more about the online GED test, Welcoming the online GED test.
