GED Classes Norfolk, Virginia

On this page, you can discover all GED® prep class locations and testing facilities in the Norfolk, Virginia region. Virginia is using the computer-formatted GED test for high school equivalency(HSE) testing.

The GED exam can be taken online or at one of Virginia’s certified GED testing facilities.

HSE testing gives people who left high school without a diploma the chance to obtain an equivalent degree.

The GED exam includes four individual tests in the academic fields of Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

There’s no need to take the entire GED battery in one take. You can prepare for and take one subtest, or module, at a time.

When you have created your account at GED.com, you have the option to register and pay for one subtest at a time.

It used to be that the GED test was not available via the internet. You needed to go in person to one of Virginia’s official GED testing sites.

But now, that has changed with the launch of the online proctored GED exam. To learn more, check the information at the bottom of this post.

Introducing the online proctored GED exam

Until recently, you didn’t have the choice to take the GED exam in an online format. If you wanted to acquire a Virginia GED credential, you always were required to show up, in-person, at one of Virginia’s state-recognized GED testing facilities.

This has now changed, however, as we saw the launch of a new online GED test-taking opportunity. Qualifying students can now take the four GED modules online from the comfort of their homes. An online proctor oversees the entire test-taking process and checks if all is done in accordance with the rules. To learn more about this new development, visit Introducing an online GED testing option.
