GED Classes Newport News Virginia

This post includes an overview of all GED prep class locations and testing sites in the Newport News area. Virginia is using the computer-formatted GED exam for its high school equivalency testing program.

The GED test is available online and at certified Virginia GED test facilities.

The exam gives adults who never finished high school a chance to obtain an equivalent degree.

GED® testing is done through four independent subtests (modules) that assess proficiency in these academic subject fields:

• Math
• Science
• Social Studies
• Language

You can opt to sit for the four GED modules one at a time. There’s no need to take it all in one testing session.

The GED exam measures knowledge and skills at a similar level as expected of graduating HS students.

Launching Online Proctored GED Testing

In the past, there was no option to take the GED test via the Internet. If you wanted to acquire your Virginia GED degree, you always had to present yourself in person at one of Virginia’s state-approved, official GED testing centers.

Now that changed. Recently, we witnessed the launch of a new online GED test-taking option that allows qualifying students to sit for the four GED modules from the comfort of their homes.
