Your Future
Holding a GED diploma will certainly result in better job options and promotions on the job, and it allows for a college education. The GED is accepted as the equivalent of a high school credential by virtually all US businesses, government organizations, employers, and colleges.
This website informs you about all possible aspects of the GED exam, and you can go to the GED’s organization website, GED.com, to learn every detail about the GED program and how to register and pay for your testing sessions.
How old do I need to be?
In Vermont, you need to be at least 16 years old. Testers 16 & 17 years old, however, will need to submit a consent form signed by a parent/guardian.
Applicants must be Vermont residents, but they don’t have to attend a prep course first or take the GED Ready test. It is strongly recommended, though, to become well-prepared through the state’s Adult Education & Literacy system.
Classes are offered at no cost at all. To qualify for online GED testing, applicants need to first reach passing scores on the GED Ready practice test.
Another great option, particularly for students who live in remote regions, is to follow a reputable online GED prep course, such as the accredited GED prep program from Onsego.
The Online GED Test
In the past, taking the GED exam online was not an option. To earn your GED diploma, you were required to come in person to an official, state-recognized GED testing center.
But a few years back, we saw the introduction of the online proctored GED test. A proctor will verify online that your test-taking process complies with the rules and regulations.
To learn more about the online GED exam, check out this article -> Introducing the online GED test.
You only qualify for the online GED test if you have passed the GED Ready test for the subject test you want to take.
For each of the GED subtests, you need to pass a corresponding GED Ready practice test first, so that makes four of these tests.
These GED Ready tests cost $7.99 each, meaning you can add $32 to the Vermont GED testing fees.
Free GED Ready Tests
If you study for your GED test with an Advantage account from Onsego, there’s no need to buy the GED Ready tests.
All Advantage Plans include four free GED Ready vouchers. Isn’t that a wonderful $32 bonus?
You can already purchase an Advantage Plan for just $79, which includes free supportive courses, full curriculum access from day one, as well as the four free GED Ready Vouchers.
