This post lists all GED and  HiSET prep facilities and testing centers in the Kingsport area. Tennessee uses both the GED and HiSET exams for its High School Equivalency testing program.

The GED and HiSET exams may be taken in an online format or at state-designated testing sites.

The exams offer adults without a high school diploma the opportunity to earn an equivalent degree.

The HiSET and GED exams assess knowledge at a level that’s comparable to that of graduating high school seniors.

The HiSET is offered in both a paper- and a computer-based version and includes five subtests. The GED test must be taken on a computer and has four independent sub-exams. All subtests may be taken separately and in any order.

The five HiSET modules cover the fields of

• Language Writing
• Social Studies
• Science
• Math

On the GED, there are four separate sub-exams since the Language Reading and Language Writing portions were merged into one single Language sub-exam.

Introducing the Online Proctored HiSET and GED Tests

In the past, you could never take the GED or HiSET exam via the Internet. You needed to report, in person, to one of Tennessee’s state-recognized HSE testing centers.
