This is an overview of all offered GED® prep classes in the Idaho Falls region. Idaho uses the computerized GED exam for HSE (High School Equivalency) testing purposes.
The GED exam is available at certified GED test centers and in an online format.
HSE testing provides persons who didn’t graduate high school with the chance to secure an equivalent degree.
The GED measures knowledge at a similar level as what may be expected of students after four years of high school.
The GED contains four independent subtests in math, literacy, science, and social studies that can be dealt with one at a time.
Until recently, GED testing could only be done at state-approved testing centers, there was no online GED testing option. But now, with the introduction of a new, online, proctored option, that has changed.

Online test-taking option
In the past, taking the GED exam was only available at state-approved testing sites. GED testing could simply not be done online. To earn your Georgia GED credential, you needed to report, in person, to one of Idaho’s official GED test centers.
But now, a new online option to sit for the GED test was introduced and all has changed. If you take the GED exam online, a proctor will help you and check if everything happens in line with the regulations. To learn more, go to ‘New Online GED Testing Option’.
