Well, in most states, you can just sign up for the GED or HiSET exam without having to first attend a prep course or a pre-test. But this doesn’t count for all states, and not for online testing.

When taking the GED or HiSET exam online, you’ll have to reach sufficient scores on the exams’ practice tests before you qualify for online testing.
