This post contains a full listing of GED prep sites and testing centers in the Fayetteville region. North Carolina is using two options for high school equivalency testing: the GED and HiSET exams.
Both the HiSET and GED exams are offered in an online format and at state-approved HSE test centers. The exams give students who never finished high school the chance to earn an equivalent credential.

The GED has four independent tests (modules) assessing proficiency in these subject areas:
- Social Studies
- Science
- English Language Literacy
- Math
These sub-exams are independent modules that may be completed separately and in your desired order.
The HiSET comes with five tests (literacy has individual writing and reading tests) that are offered separately as well.
HiSET testing is offered on paper and on a computer, while the GED is totally computer-formatted.

Introducing HiSET And GED Online Tests
In recent days, online GED or HiSET testing never had been possible online. If you wanted to secure a North Carolina HSE (High School Equivalency) credential, you had to come in person to one of the state’s official HSE testing centers.
The arrival of online HiSET and GED testing options, however, has changed this. If you want to learn more about online GED testing, check out this page: Welcoming the online GED test, and for information about the recently launched online HiSET exam, visit this page: Welcoming the online HiSET exam.
