GED Classes Fayetteville, Arkansas

This post shows you all GED® prep class sites and testing facilities in the Fayetteville region. Arkansas makes use of the GED exam for high school equivalency (HSE) testing purposes.

HSE testing gives persons who quit high school prematurely the chance to acquire an equivalent degree.

The GED exam is computer-based and has four individual subtests in math, literacy, science, and social studies.

You can take one (or more) of these four subtests at a time; there’s no need to take the entire GED Battery in one session.

Online GED testing has never been an option. Personal appearance at an Arkansas GED testing site was needed. This is changing, however, with the arrival of an online GED test. Read more below.

Eureka Springs Public Library is providing free GED classes for adults who would like to earn their high school equivalency diploma. Applicants 18 and older can take advantage of these free GED classes offered at the Eureka Springs Library Annex on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Classes are held in the morning from 9 a.m. till noon.

The GED classes are offered at no charge and all students will get one-on-one help as well as a lot of study materials for self-study on a computer and study manuals provided by the state. The GED exam includes four tests on literacy, math, science, and social studies, and is far more challenging than the old version.

Students are also required to take GED preparation classes before they can sit for the exam and they first must be assessed to allow the library to determine what a student must concentrate on most. After attending classes, students receive a significant discount on the cost of testing.

The online GED test

Sitting for the four GED subtests via the internet has never been possible. Test-takers needed to report, in person, to one of Arkansas’ official GED test centers if they wanted to earn an Arkansas GED credential. Now, with the arrival of an online GED test, that all is changing. More information can be found here: the online proctored GED test.
