Four Independent GED Sub-exams

The GED exam is computer-based and has four individual subtests that measure a student’s proficiency in these academic fields:

• Math
• English Language
• Science
• Social Studies

You can take one (or more) of these four subtests at a time and in any order; there’s no need to take the entire GED battery in one session.

The Online GED Test

Today, it is also possible to take the four GED subtests online. It used to be that GED test-takers had to report in person to one of Arkansas’s official GED test centers to take the exam.

But with the arrival of the online proctored (O.P.) GED test some years back, that changed. More information can be found here: the online proctored GED test.

To qualify for online testing, candidates must first reach green (passing) scores on the GED Ready practice test. There’s one of these practice tests for each of the four subtests, at $7.99 each, for a total of $32.
