The GED offers adults who were unable to complete high school the chance to earn an equivalent degree.

The exam includes four modules (independent subtests) in these academic fields:

  • Mathematics
  • English Language Arts
  • Social Studies
  • Science

You can take the subtests (modules) separately. No need to complete the four tests in one take.

Our platform provides free GED online classes, allowing you to determine at no cost if an online course is right for you.

There had, until recently, never been an online GED testing option. You needed to come, in person, to an official Virginia GED test center.

This has changed now with the introduction of an online proctored GED exam. For more information, check the bottom of this page.

Online GED Testing Welcomed

It used to be that you didn’t have the option to sit for the GED exam over the Internet. If you would like to earn your Virginia GED credential, your personal appearance was needed at one of Virginia’s state-approved GED testing sites.

Now, that has all changed as we saw the arrival of a new online proctored option to take the GED exam from the comfort of your own home. A proctor will be monitoring your testing activities to see if you do it all in line with the regulations. For more information, check out The introduction of the online proctored GED test.

Your Future

The General Education Development (GED) program was developed in order to help adults boost their professional possibilities and to give them the possibility of entry to higher education. In the US, we can find millions of persons who never completed high school, and the GED program is specifically meant for them.

Every year, more than half a million men and women complete the GED exam, and you could very well be one of them. You are given around 7.5 hours to deal with the complete battery of four tests, but as said above, there’s no need to take it all in one session.

Are adjustments or updates needed? Should we add or delist a facility? Please advise us here.
