GED Classes Chandler, Arizona

This page lists all GED prep class locations and testing facilities in the Chandler area. The state of Arizona is using the GED exam for its high school equivalency testing program.

There is an online GED testing option as well. To qualify for online testing, you must score in the “green zone” on the official GED Ready® test. Read more below.

The GED® test gives persons who left high school prematurely one more chance to earn an equivalent diploma.

The GED exam includes four subtests in social studies, science, literacy, and math.

You are given the liberty to take these subtests one at a time. No need to take the full GED battery in one take.

The GED test is quite challenging. The four modules assess knowledge at a level similar to what graduating high school seniors must command.

Online GED Exam

The four GED subtests can now be taken online and one at a time by students that score “green” on the GED Ready official practice test. A proctor will guide you through the process. For more details, go to this page -> ‘The online proctored GED test.’

Who Is The GED Exam For?

The GED (General Education Development) exam provides the opportunity to get ahold of a high school equivalency degree for adults who did not complete their traditional high school education.

All across the country, the GED credential is seen as equivalent to a high school diploma. The instructions offered in GED and pre GED classes are developed to address the educational needs of people with a wide range of skills and capabilities.

The GED exam must be entirely done on a computer, and online testing was, until recently, not available. Applicants had to take the four subtests at an authorized testing center, but that has changed (see above). You can take one test at a time if you want. Please bear in mind that in Arizona, GED hopefuls must also pass the state’s Civics Test.

Age Requirements In Arizona

In Arizona, GED testers must eighteen years old or older to qualify for the GED Equivalency Assessment. However, examinees ages sixteen and seventeen may also qualify if they provide a statement from their former high school verifying their formal withdrawal from school and a notarized statement of approval signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Arizona doesn’t require testers to attend a prep class prior to taking the assessment or reaching a passing score on the official practice test, the GED Ready Assessment.
