The four GED subtests can be taken online, the online proctored (OP) test, or at one of North Dakota’s official GED test facilities.
The test provides adults who didn’t finish high school the chance to secure an equivalent diploma.

GED® testing happens at a level comparable to that of graduating high school students.
Some students perform better on the GED test if they prepare with a teacher at a physical prep site, while others may prefer to learn through an accredited online program.

The tests can be taken one (or more) at a time. There’s no need to sit for the entire GED exam in one take.
In the past, online GED testing was not possible. To take the exam, you needed to report to a state-approved testing site.
Now, this has changed with the launch of an online proctored GED testing option. Read more below.
North Dakota also requires GED test takers to pass a US Civics test.

Online GED Testing
Sitting for the GED test over the Internet was, until recently, not an option. You were required to come personally to one of North Dakota’s state-designated GED testing sites if you wanted to acquire your GED degree.
Fortunately, all of that has changed now with the launch of the GED testing option in an online format. A proctor will oversee your online testing efforts and see if everything is done in line with the regulations. Check out the post ‘Introducing the online GED test’ if you want to learn more about this interesting development.

Prepare Well
All North Dakota Adult Learning Centers can provide support for students looking to earn a GED. The North Dakota GED High School Credential is based upon successfully completing the four GED exams that are available in English and Spanish.
Instruction towards the GED exam is free and offered by Adult Learning Centers all through North Dakota and also by several test sites. Instruction includes lessons in computer literacy & keyboarding skills and career & college readiness preparation.
In North Dakota, the minimum age to qualify for GED testing is 16 (sixteen). GED test-takers are not required to attend any prep course before they can sit for the four exams, but students are recommended to take a few practice tests to assess their current level of academic skills and knowledge. They can improve their skills and knowledge by attending a prep course provided by Adult Learning Centers to sign up for an online prep course.
