In this article, you can find all GED or HiSET prep sites and testing centers in the Pittsfield region. Massachusetts is using two options for the state’s High School Equivalency testing program: the HiSET and GED exams.
Both tests can only be taken at certified Massachusetts testing facilities. There’s NO online testing option in the state.
The exams offer adults who did not accomplish high school the chance to acquire an equivalent degree.
Both tests measure basic knowledge at a level comparable to what students usually learn in four years of high school.

The GED has four individual subtests in

GED and HiSET Online Testing Options
It was never possible to take the GED or HiSET exam over the Internet. That is, until recently! Both exams were offered only at state-designated, official test centers. Recently, however, we’ve seen the arrival of a new, online, proctored testing format for both exams, but in Massachusetts, the exams must be taken at test centers.

Massachusetts’ Department of Elementary & Secondary Education announced that the state covers the fees of GED and HiSET testing. Check here for more details and to learn about promo codes.

GED Scoring
The GED is scored on a 100-200 scale, where a score of 145 – 164 indicates high school equivalency, a 165 – 174 score indicates college readiness, and a 175 – 200 score will result in college credit as well.
The HiSET sub-exams are scored on a 0-20 scale, and the minimally required result is an 8-score. Overall, you must reach at least 45 points, and your essay must have at least 2 out of 6 points.
The GED program offers the possibility to register and pay for one of the four tests separately. The five HiSET subtests may also be taken one at a time.
