Online HiSET or GED testing was, until a few years back, not an option. The exam was exclusively administered at official Louisiana testing centers, but that has changed. Check the bottom of this page for more details.

The Five HiSET Subtests
There are five independent HiSET subtests measuring knowledge in the subject areas of
- Language Writing
- Language Reading
- Social Studies
- Math
- Science
GED testing involves four separate sub-exams, as the Language Writing and Language Reading portions were combined into one Language Arts sub-exam.
The HiSET is available in both a paper-and-pencil and a computerized format. The GED exam is exclusively available on a computer. All HiSET and GED subtests are independent modules that can be taken in any order and one at a time, if you wish.
Across America, the GED or HiSET diploma is accepted in the same manner as a standard high school diploma. Testing occurs at a level that is similar to that of graduating high school seniors.

Online GED and HiSET Testing
In earlier times, the HiSET and GED tests were not available online. To acquire a Louisiana high school equivalency degree, your personal appearance at one of Louisiana’s official HiSET or GED testing sites was a requirement.
However, that has changed with the introduction of the online HiSET and GED tests. If you take the five HiSET or four GED modules (one at a time is possible) online from your home, a proctor will oversee the entire process and verify that it occurs in accordance with the regulations.
For more detailed information, check out ‘Online HiSET Test.’ For more details on the Online GED Test, <- check here.
To qualify for GED testing online, you first need to achieve “green” (passing) scores on the GED Ready test. There’s a GED Ready test for each of the four GED tests, resulting in a total of four practice tests.
The GED Ready test costs $7.99 each on GED.com. Students learning for the GED or HiSET exam with an Onsego Advantage Plan don’t need to buy any practice tests because Advantage Plans include four GED Ready vouchers. That’s an incredible $32 bonus!
Do we have to list or remove a facility? Should we make adjustments? Please advise us here.
