This article lists all GED prep sites and testing facilities in the entire Long Island region. New York uses the GED test for its high school equivalency testing program.
The GED exam gives adults who never finished high school another chance to acquire an equivalent credential.

New York State used the TASC exam for that purpose, but the program was discontinued at the end of 2021. Earlier TASC passing scores also count toward your GED!
The GED® (General Education Development) test includes four independent modular exams that cover the academic fields of Language Arts (Writing and Reading in 1 sub-exam), Math, Social Studies, and Science.
In New York, the GED exam is available only at state-designated testing sites. Online testing is no option in the state.
Testing takes place at a level that is comparable to that of HS seniors upon graduation.
