This article lists all GED prep sites and testing facilities in the entire Long Island region. New York uses the GED test for its high school equivalency testing program.

New York State used the TASC exam for that purpose, but the program was discontinued at the end of 2021. Earlier TASC passing scores also count toward your GED!

The GED (General Education Development) test includes four independent modular exams that cover the academic fields of

• Language Arts (Writing and Reading in 1 sub-exam)
• Math
• Social Studies
• Science
