GED Classes Knoxville, Tennessee

This article lists all GED and HiSET prep classes and testing sites in the Knoxville region. Tennessee is using both the GED and HiSET exams for its high school equivalency testing program.

The GED and HiSET exams are available online and at certified Tennessee testing centers.

Both exams assess basic knowledge at a level similar to what high school students must command upon graduation.

There are students who perform better when supervised by an instructor at a physical facility (see the list below), while others perform well when they use an online HiSET or GED course.

This website offers free practice tests and free GED online classes to help you decide if online learning is a good fit for you.

The GED exam includes four tests in the academic fields of

• Language Arts (Reading and Writing in one subtest)
• Social Studies
• Mathematics
• Science

The HiSET has separate reading and writing tests (so five in total) and is available in both paper and computer-based versions, whereas the GED exam is fully computerized.

In earlier days, there was never an option to take the GED or HiSET exam online. Testing was possible only at official Tennessee testing centers.

In the past, there never had been an option to sit for the GED or HiSET exam in an online format. You had to report, in person, to a state-recognized official Tennessee test center.
