GED Classes Elk City, Oklahoma

This page includes a full listing of GED® prep locations and testing sites in the Elk City area. Oklahoma uses the totally computerized GED exam for HSE (high school equivalency) testing program.

Additionally, the state welcomed the HiSET® which is offered in both computer and paper-based formats.

HiSET and GED testing can be done at official Oklahoma HSE test centers and in an online format. For more information about the new online HiSET and GED testing options, go to the bottom of this page.

The HSE test offers adults who left high school before graduating another shot at acquiring an equivalent credential.

The GED includes four subtests in Math, Science, Literacy, and Social Studies that can be taken separately.

The HiSET exam has individual reading and writing tests, so five in total, that can be taken independently as well.

Both options measure proficiency at a level that compares to that of graduating HS seniors.

Your future

The HSE diploma that is awarded after successful completion of the Oklahoma HSE exam will certainly improve the job options of graduates and gives them access to colleges and universities. In America, we still can find millions of adults who never finished high school, and passing the test will lead to better employment options.

The GED program allows you to acquire a credential that is equivalent to a high school diploma, and offer you the possibility to improve your living conditions. If you are interested in sitting for the Oklahoma GED exam, you need to be an Oklahoma resident, not be enrolled in any school program, and not already possess a secondary school credential.

Welcoming online GED and HiSET testing options

Students looking to acquire their Oklahoma high school equivalency credentials always needed to come to an official, state-approved HSE testing facility. There never was the option to deal with one of the exams via the internet. But now, we’ve witnessed the introduction of both a HiSET and a GED testing option in an online proctored format.

If you wish to read more about the recently welcomed online proctored HiSET test, visit this article: ‘Welcoming the online proctored HiSET exam’, and for more detailed information on the new online proctored GED exam, check out this post: ‘Introducing the online proctored GED test’.
