GED Classes Corpus Christi, Texas

On this page, we list all GED® prep locations and testing sites in the Corpus Christi region.

Texas uses three options for HSE (high school equivalency) testing, the HiSET, GED, and TASC.

HSE testing gives persons who never graduated high school the chance to obtain an equivalent degree.

Increase your GED test score quickly

Sometimes just a few points decide if you pass or fail the GED test.

  • Having a poor GED test-taking technique can cost you your diploma.
  • Don’t allow this to happen to you!
  • Learn how to increase your GED score by preparing with the Covcel GED Prep Course.

HSE testing takes place at a similar level as what students must master when they graduate from high school.

The GED is computer-based and HiSET and TASC testing is offered in paper-based and computerized versions.

The GED has four subtests in literacy, math, science, and social studies that you must pass within a 2-year time frame.

The TASC and HiSET alternatives have five subtests (separate reading and writing tests) that can be taken separately, too.

Free online GED classes

No online testing option

There is NO online GED, HiSET, or TASC testing possibility. Websites that promise you this option are false and schools and employers will not accept these fake documents. Don’t waste your money! For detailed eligibility criteria go to GED in Texas, and you should also take a look at this post that comes with links to all US GED prep locations and test facilities.

Who can take the GED exam?

When you have not been able to complete high school, the GED (or HiSET or TASC) program is your best chance to catch up. Take advantage of the opportunity to earn the Texas high school equivalency diploma. Upon passing the four separate GED tests (or the five TASC-HiSET tests), you’ll receive a diploma that is nationwide accepted by colleges, universities, and employers. HSE testing is for adults without a high school diploma and the diploma that’s awarded upon successful HSE testing is equivalent to a common HS diploma.

The four GED tests

The GED exam now includes four separate tests. The literacy section ‘writing’ was incorporated all through the other tests as most multiple choice questions have gone in favor of essay-style answering that allows for assessment of a candidate’s writing skills. The four testing subjects are literacy, math, science, and social studies. You can now take and pay for one test at a time ($135 for the entire battery, or $33.75 per test) when you feel all set to do so, and your scores are valid for two years from your initial registration. This only applies to the GED. HiSET and TASC are cheaper than the GED.

Only two years after its implementation, GED Testing Service lowered the minimally required result on each of the four subtests by five points to 145. See this GED Scoring Page for more elaborate information.  The HSE diploma will definitely lead to better employment options and qualifies for continued education in college and university.
