It doesn’t matter when you left school.
The exam gives persons who never graduated high school the chance to obtain an equivalent degree.
GED® testing takes place at a similar level as what students must master when they graduate from high school.
The exam is computer-based and can be taken in English or Spanish.
The GED has four separate subtests in literacy, math, science, and social studies. There’s no need to deal with the entire GED battery in one take.
Recently, we saw the introduction of an online GED testing option. Learn more at the bottom of this page.

Welcoming Online Proctored GED Testing
Until recently, to earn your Texas high school equivalency credential, you were required to show up at a state-approved Texas HSE testing center and sit for the GED exam in person. There just was no way you could take the test online.
But now, this has all changed as we saw the introduction of online proctored GED testing. If you want to learn more about the online proctored GED test, go to ‘Launching the online GED test.’
