GED Classes Woonsocket, Rhode Island

Posted in this article are all GED® prep facilities and test sites in the Woonsocket area. Rhode Island uses the computer-formatted GED exam for its high school equivalency (HSE) testing program.

This way, adults who dropped out of high school have the chance to acquire an equivalent degree.

HSE testing occurs at a level comparable to that of graduating high school seniors.

The GED includes four individual subtests (modules) in literacy, math, science, and social studies that you can take one (or more) at a time.

The GED tests assess knowledge and skill at a level that’s comparable to what may be expected of high school grads.

Online GED testing has never been an option. Test-takers had to appear, in person, at an official Rhode Island GED testing site.

But the arrival of an online proctored GED testing option has changed this now. Check below for more information on this great development.

Your future

Rhode Island grants the Senior High School Equivalency Diploma to anyone who successfully accomplishes the GED exam. In Rhode Island, each test costs $30 (so $120 for the entire exam). The GED exam is modular, meaning that you have the freedom to prepare for, pay for, and take one of the four tests separately. You don’t need to complete all four tests (modules) in one take.

Rhode Island GED Practice Test

The GED passing score is 145 on a 100-200 scale. The GED exam comprises 4 content area tests in Literacy: 150 minutes; Math: 115 minutes; Science: 90 minutes; and Social Studies: 70 minutes. First, you register at GED.com and set up your account at MyGED, then you can schedule your tests, and everything is done online.

You can take and pay for one subtest at the moment you feel ready to do so. If you can find a testing center that can accommodate you for all four tests, that’s fine, but most testing centers are not open enough hours to schedule all four tests in one day. You can find more options for testing if you schedule one or two tests.

You can take the same test three times without delay, but thereafter is a waiting period of 60 days before you can try again. All accommodations are arranged via GED Testing Services, and you can find all necessary information at GED.com.

Introducing an online proctored GED test

GED testing over the internet has never been possible. To secure your GED diploma, you needed to show up, in-personal, at an official, state-designated Rhode Island GED testing facility. But this has now come to an end as we witnessed the introduction of a new online proctored option to take the GED exam.
