GED Classes Waycross, Georgia

This page lists all GED® prep class locations and testing sites in the Waycross region. The state of Georgia is using the computer-formatted GED exam for HSE (high school equivalency) testing.

The GED is for people who couldn’t finish high school and gives them the chance to acquire an equivalent degree.

GED (General Education Development) testing is done via four separate subtests or modules in Math, Literacy, Social Studies, and Science.

You have the option to take one or more of the four GED modules at a time. There’s no need to take all four tests at once.

GED testing is done at a level similar to that of high school grads.

How long does it take to get your GED?

The Four GED Tests

The GED exam consists of four tests that cover these subject areas: Literacy, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. The GED exam is developed to give adults who did not finish a regular high school education, a chance to demonstrate their knowledge and skills at the level that may be expected after a four-year high school education.

The GED assessment program is administered by GED Testing Service (a joint venture of non-profit ACE, the American Council on Education, and the biggest for-profit American assessment developer Pearson). You don’t need to take the four GED subtests at the same time. The tests can be taken individually.
